Niquitin Clear is used as an aid in smoking cessation. This type of treatment is called Nicotine Replacement Therapy or NRT. Niquitin Clear is available in three dosages: 21mg, 14mg, and 7mg/24hrs. Patients wishing to quit smoking should start with a stronger transdermal system and gradually move to lower dosages. Each dosage is marketed in a different package.

The substance responsible for physical dependence on tobacco is the nicotine present in cigarettes. Niquitin Clear helps you quit smoking by providing some of the nicotine you would normally consume when smoking cigarettes. When you use Niquitin Clear, nicotine is slowly released into your system, relieving some of the unpleasant symptoms smokers experience when trying to quit and helping to suppress the urge to smoke cigarettes.

Niquitin Clear patches can be used as monotherapy or in combination with any oral form of Niquitin (lozenge or chewing gum) in smokers who have relapsed after nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), when monotherapy with just one Niquitin product is not enough, or if you smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day (see section 3: how to use Niquitin Clear).

NRT does not have the same health hazards as tobacco – it does not contain tar, carbon monoxide, or other toxins from tobacco smoke. Some patients may find that after quitting smoking, they can become dependent on nicotine patches. These cases are very rare, and if it happens, it is less harmful to you than continuing to smoke. It is also an easier habit to break.

Your chances of quitting smoking increase if you enter a support program. This type of program is known as behavioral support.

For more information about these types of programs, consult a healthcare professional. There are no health benefits associated with smoking. It is always better to quit smoking and using Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) such as Nicotin can help. In general, any possible side effects associated with NRT are substantially outweighed by the well-established dangers of continuing to smoke. Sale reserved for individuals over 16 years of age. Non-prescription medicine. Read the information leaflet carefully and if in doubt or if symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
